PUP EconRes launches 35th Econ Week Celebration

The Economic Research Society of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) will begin their 35th Economics Week celebration on March 7-12 with the theme “Defying Boundaries: The 35th Economics Week, " featuring a series of activities and contests virtually via Zoom and Facebook Live. An opening ceremony on March 7 will be held to commence the Economics Week alongside starting the online voting to select the winners of The Bold Creative: Econtent Creation Contest on the competitions such as Economists on FYP!: Tiktok Contest, Essay Writing Contest and Econ’s Next Top Model.
 
On the 2nd day, the students will participate in a series of webinars featuring Piggy Bank Ride to be conducted by Samuel Hernandez, Sun Life Philippines with his talk entitled “Insurance 101” together with the founder of Money Health Check, Antonette Aquino with her forum “A beginner/student’s Guide to Personal Finance.

Meanwhile, March 9-10 will be the day for gamers! The Battle of the Bravest and The Battle of the Factions will be held on and get ready to be jam-packed with entertainment and games. Players will compete in Call of Duty: Search and Destroy and Battle Royale for The Battle of the Bravest. Freshmen: candor (honesty); sophomores: abnegation (selflessness); juniors: erudition (intelligence); and seniors: amity (peace). Students will participate in the game Know Your Campus.
 
The much-anticipated program EconNight 2022: Celebrating Factions' Victory will take place on March 11th to honor members' performance and participation during the week. The official program will begin and culminate with a series of highly anticipated intermission performances from the EconMocers and the EconVoices. Furthermore, the winners of the Bold Creative contests will be announced for a guaranteed exciting night out and showcase the hidden talents of ekonomistas.
 
The Virtual Faculty & Alumni Homecoming will take place on the penultimate day, March 12! Faculty and alumni from the Department of Economics will attend this event. The business has created a series of games for them, as well as prestigious awards to commemorate their significant contributions to the organization and the Department of Economics as a whole. This occasion will undoubtedly bring out the best in them!
 
The Economics Week is an annual event honoring the Department of Economics' commitment to creating the future, as well as that of its official academic organization, the Economics Research Society. By seeking academic brilliance and improving economic literacy, future economists will be more competitive and productive members of society. This year, we will electronically commemorate 35 years of dedication, bravery, and cooperation!
