Mendira.net artists recently released their company’s jingle “Kaya Mo Yan” featuring Tiports, Valkyrie Cabalo, and Rexxx on all music-streaming platforms with a goal of inspiring artists. In November 2020, Tatay Paul (Paul Valle Ragus), the founder of Mendira, requested a song for Mendira Media, but public performances were outlawed because the pandemic was still at its height. “I wanted a relatable song. Immortalized Books That Are Slowly Dying

Image

Reading about the Philippines in the 70s and 80s via the work of numerous prolific authors is an easy way to revisit this era, which is decades old but far from forgotten. Here are some books that will help us in l...

photo from rappler.com — Z.G. The Philippine elections have been under the global radar long before I can begin to backtrack. While I can only speak for the 2022 national and local elections, many have seemed to forget what life was like 36 years past a dictator’s rulership and this shows in the unofficial and partial results of votes.  In the past 6 months, if you have ever been to People’s Campaigns for Leni and Kiko held in different parts of the nation, you would also attest that it’s one big safe space where fellow Filipinos celebrate through singing and dancing just like one big street party. Volunteerism has spearheaded the campaign which drew thousands and thousands of civilians together in standing up for a transparent, people-focused government.  Friday, 6 days after the finale of the campaign season, the Presidential candidate who is an advocate of good governance, and outgoing Vice President of the current administration, Leni Robredo along with her running-...
